The New York State Democratic Party will be holding its convention Sunday and Monday. Not all of us can attend the Convention -- but that should not stop all of us from convening.
Three opportunities:
1. Every Thursday -- including tonight -- Drinking Liberally, a gaggle of lefties with a liking for libations, convocates in the backyard of Rudy's, the favorite dive of Hell's Kitchen.
2. Sunday, Sunday, Sunday - young, progressive New Yorkers, elected officials from around the state and a host of independent, liberal, activist groups will be gathering for a free mixer with free drinks. A chance for this cosmos of social-political organization to see each other's faces, swap ideas and chart the course for the next six months.
The groups include The New Democratic Majority, Music for America, The League of Pissed Off Voters, The 2020 Democrats, Dem Apples & Drinking Liberally. Folks from the Democratic Action Team, Concerts for Kerry, and DL21C will also be present, as will Tom Suozzi, the man who won back Nassau.
7-9pm @ The Tank - 432 W42nd.
Did I mention free drinks?
3. On Monday evening, following the Young Dems Convention, the Young Dems and DL21C will be hosting the official after-party at Rosie O'Grady's. Electeds will be stopping in, spirits will run high, and the goal of the next six months will be clear and shared.
Let the convening commence.
